The Work Study student will be under the DSP Director's supervision; expected to work 10-15 hours per week; mostly remotely; during Autumn, Winter and Spring Quarters AY 2024-2025. We can only hire an undergraduate or graduate student who has verified work study eligibility. NATURE OF ORGANIZATION
Disability Studies Program, an academic program at the University of Washington.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in updating program website content. Assist in developing and taking the lead in implementing communications plan between program leadership and students, community partners, and alumni. Assist in developing and distributing accessible promotional materials for events and activities. Be able to work remotely, 10-15 hours a week during Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong organizational skills. Strong writing and communication skills. Ability to work independently. Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software including MS Word, Forms, Excel and PowerPoint. MUST BE A CURRENT WORK STUDY STUDENT.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience organizing and generating website content. Experience managing variety of social media platforms. Experience in creating accessible documents and files. Scholarly engagement with the UW Disability Studies Program and/or academic field of Critical Disability Studies.
