The University of Washington welcomes Professor Licia Carlson, Providence College for a presentation entitled "Gender, Disability, and the Dynamics of Institutionalization." Professor Carlson focuses her research on philosophy and disability as well as ethics, feminist philosophy, aesthetics, and contemporary French philosophy. She is the co-editor of Cognitive Disability and Its Challenge to Moral Philosophy and author of The Faces of Intellectual Disability: Philosophical Reflections. She is currently writing a book on music and philosophy.
