The Carl James Dunlap Memorial Student Award

BACKGROUND: The Carl James Dunlap Memorial Student Award, administered by the University of Washington DO-IT Center, seeks to support UW Seattle students in achieving their education goals. The scholarship was established by the Dunlap family to honor the memory of UW student Carl Dunlap. This Winter, The Carl James Dunlap Memorial Student Award will be distributing funds to up to four UW students. The award amount is expected to be around $1,000 - $2,500 per student.

 

PURPOSE: The purpose of each award is to help students pay for tuition and/or school related expenses (e.g., personal care assistants – PCAs).  

 

This is a short application and is open to everyone. 


HOW TO APPLY: Responses to application questions can be submitted by following the link to the Online Application Form. Applicants will be asked to respond to the following questions:

Do you identify as having a disability?  
Are you registered with the UW Disability Resources for Students office?  (You do not need to be in order to be eligible for the award)
Do you plan to use the award to offset costs needed for a PCA?  
Estimated graduation date and major
Describe your education and career goals (max 200 words)
Describe how this award would help you accomplish your goals (max 300 words)

 

OBLIGATIONS: Students are to use award funds for the purposes specified in the award. In Spring, students will be asked to share how the award helped them.
