At our Convocation ceremony on June 3rd, we were thrilled to make this announcement!

Barbara Greenberg Endowed Scholarship for Disability Studies

Last year, we were pleased to announce the creation of a new scholarship that honors the memory of the first student who graduated with a Major in Disability Studies. Her name was Barbara Greenberg and her family and friends came together to create a substantial endowment that will fund a student scholarship to be called the Barbara Greenberg Endowed Scholarship for Disability Studies. We are delighted today to announce that the inaugural recipient of this scholarship is Toby Gallant.

Toby is a Disability Studies major and is minoring in Law, Societies, and Justice, and ASL. He is an excellent student and very engaged in the Disability Studies Program. He directs the ASUW Student Disability Commission where he supported the new ASUW Office of Inclusive Design through its first year and advocated successfully for increased funding for the Disability Resources for Students office. It was this combination of academic excellence, engaged advocacy, and leadership that led the committee to recommend Toby as the recipient of the Barbara Greenberg Scholarship. So, our congratulations to Toby. We are excited to know that the Greenberg Scholarship will support him to continue his education and advocacy in the 2022-23 academic year.

"I want to say a big thank you to the family and friends who endowed this scholarship and acknowledge the positive investment they have made in supporting the Disability Studies Program and our students."
