For those joining in Odegaard Library 220, we ask that you:

  • adhere to DS community guidelines by wearing a mask and choosing to zoom instead if you are feeling sick,
  • and if you are not a current UW student or employee, we have your name on the guest list and you will need to show a photo ID at the door.

DSP Statement on COVID safety precautions this quarter:

  • Masks are very highly recommended for all students, faculty, staff, and other members of the Disability Studies community who attend in-person class meetings, office hours, and in-person events and activities. Continuing the use of masks will help to make our learning spaces and workplaces as accessible as possible and to protect everyone, especially at this time when there are fewer precautions on and off campus. 4:30-5:00 Reception (no refreshments): Attendees are invited to mingle to congratulate their graduates both in ODE 220 and on Zoom in breakout rooms.

Reception

  • If we were all in person, and not in the midst of a pandemic, after the ceremony we would all be heading to the reception table for cupcakes. The room would be loud, and we could walk around to chat with each other, introduce our guests and hang out.
  • To try to recreate that experience somewhat in a hybrid format, folks on Zoom will be invited to move into breakout rooms. Two of the breakouts are planned to interface with the Odegaard room, so that you can have hybrid conversations between ODE and Zoom attendees in the rooms labeled “OWL.” One room with have captioning.
  • We’ll set up several breakout rooms and everyone can choose to go to the room you prefer and move from room to room. When the meeting host opens up the rooms, you should see the controls - the Breakout Rooms button at the bottom of your screen.
